We believe that businesses should make a positive social impact; that’s why every quarter we give a percentage of our sales to a non-profit chosen by our staff. We try to select local non-profits that provide a service that we believe in. Non-profits rely heavily on donations and volunteer energy that draws on the powerful altruistic impulse that is a key aspect of what it means to be human.
For the second quarter of 2015, we are proud to have selected the Los Angeles Inner-City Arts organization. Widely regarded as one of the nation’s most effective arts education providers, Inner-City Arts is an oasis of learning, achievement and creativity in the heart of Skid Row, and a vital partner in the work of creating a safer, healthier Los Angeles.
Our sales representative, Diana Garcia, volunteers with the Girl Scouts of Los Angeles assisting with programs and helping to build life skills for the girls. “Art is such a necessary part of life; it provides an outlet for creative expression, personal growth, confidence, and inner happiness.
Children in extreme poverty have the least exposure to arts education, with little to none within schools. Art inspires children to believe in their self, and to follow their creative passion. When I found the Inner-City Arts program located in Skid Row I knew that their mission of providing the opportunity for children to create and realize their dreams would be a powerful foundation to donate to. That is why I’m excited to donate a portion of our proceeds to the Los Angeles Inner-City Arts organization to continue to inspire children to pursue the arts and the limitless bounds of their creativity.”
Supporting great causes has impacted all of us here at Orange Aluminum by knowing that we are helping organizations achieve their mission! We donate because we believe in giving back to non-profits that work hard to keep our local communities thriving!
